Welcome! I am a writer of songs, poems, short fiction, nonfiction articles, essays and narratives. I reside in Southern Colorado's San Luis Valley with my wife, 2 dogs, and a houseplant jungle, where I am currently taking a break from teaching writing and literature to focus on sharing my writing as an early career writer. I hold a Masters degree in Literacy from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and I earned a BA from Northern Arizona University with a minor in creative writing while writing for Lumberjack News in Flagstaff, Arizona.
My wife and I moved here from Arizona, when we married in 2008. We have no kids, but do frolic with our standard poodle, Dolly and Dave, the 5 year old giant schnauzer. Next to writing, I currently enjoy caring for houseplants, growing food, birding, playing acoustic guitar and singing as Lucky Overton.
